Though it was slightly before my time, I’ve always had something of a soft spot for the 1980s; action movies came into their prime, Queen and various hair metal groups managed to keep the classic rock genre alive for one more generation, Eastern Europe finally started giving the finger to the Soviet Union, and the NES helped propel the rise of home gaming. So with my love of this era, it should come as no surprise that I love the Konstantin Brayko mission. While at the moment all of the references are basically just not-so-subtle jabs at the absurdity of the era (see: purple leopard print) there’s at least one set piece in the next episode that really makes 80s fans jump for joy.
